Born in Washington D.C. and raised in the Anacostia section of the inner city.

Since I was a little girl, I have always had a passion for fashion. I was inspired by my brother, who is an artist and taught me how to draw with detail and line.

I would draw cartoon characters. Josie and the pussycats was my favorite cartoon, because of the stylish outfits they wore.

As the years went on, began drawing fashion illustrations of my own and eventually this led to me sewing  them up by hand. My fashion dreams have led me to New York City, where I attended school for Fashion Merchandising and Design. Graduating in June 2003. 

Currently in School again at North Carolina A&T State University.

Expecting to graduate Dec. 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Merchandising and Design.

Since then I have created my own Fashion House and now have over 100 or more fashion illustration and apparel samples. Which Includes, my special big bloom fashion hats, which is the highlight of my fashions as well as my handbags. I have developed a fashion website: SherylStyle.com and currently working on my first fashion magazine. My vision for women is sexy and sophisticated. We often are so wounded up in the trendy looks and what is tradition. That we do not have any creativeness or originality to our look.

What the next designer is doing is nice and if I like it I will wear it, but it is an insult to the other designer to create a replica of what they created. To me that shows no original creativeness of your own. Biting other designer’s ideas is The Ultimate No in the fashion industry. You are not respected.

I believe a true designer has his/her own ideas. They come naturally. I vision fashion ideas everyday all day.  We all have different personality’s shapes and sizes. Fashion apparel should represent that individual. SherylStyle creates a fashion look for that individuals starting with their hairstyle, to the outfit, the handbag to what shoe is right for your look. SherylStyle creates the total package...Originality.
